Address: GenevaFlorida 32732 Employment Type: Contract To Hire Last Published: Nov 3, 2025 Other Area(s) Maintenance Worker I (Contract-To-Hire) – Seminole County Solid Waste This position is recruited and staffed with reSOURCE Government Services, not Seminole County Government Seminole County is a 100% drug free workplace   Location:  Seminole County Landfill – 1930 E Osceola Rd, Geneva, FL 32732 & Seminole County Transfer Station – 1950 FL-419, Longwood, FL 32750 Work Schedule:  4/10-Hour days (Monday – Saturday)  Salary:  $16.15 per hour + benefits *Required: Must be able to clear pre-employment background, drug test; Must possess a valid and active Driver's License with a clean driving record*  Description General labor work as a spotter and performing maintenance duties at the Central Transfer Station and the County landfill. Essential Functions These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position. Inspect incoming waste and identify and properly manage any prohibited materials that are received at the facility. Safely work around heavy equipment and large trucks. Provide customer service by communicating and educating citizens utilizing the facility. Conduct site maintenance which may include litter control, mowing, etc. Additional Duties: Performs other related work as necessary.  In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.   Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma / GED or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.   Additional Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class B CDL if requested in a reasonable amount of time (not to exceed six months). The ability to operate a bobcat / front end loader. Must successfully obtain a Spotter Trained certification. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Address: LongwoodFlorida 32750 Employment Type: Contract To Hire Last Published: Oct 27, 2025 Other Area(s) Solid Waste Operator I – Seminole County Solid Waste Seminole County is a 100% drug free workplace This position is recruited and staffed with reSOURCE Government Services, not Seminole County Government BoCC   Location:  Seminole County Solid Waste – Longwood, FL 32750 / Geneva, FL 32732 Work Schedule:  4-10 hour days; 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM  Pay Rate:  $17.81 per hour + benefits *Required: Must be able to clear pre-employment background, drug test; Must possess a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record*    General Statement of Job Skilled operation of heavy equipment and/or trucks such as road tractors, bull dozers, landfill compactors, excavators, off-road dump trucks and front end loaders utilized in the proper transfer, hauling and disposal of solid waste. Perform daily pre/post trip inspections on equipment and vehicles, keep accurate documentation. Adhere to the County/Division attendance policy. Uses road tractors and/or off-road equipment as assigned. Hauls walking floor trailers, on or off-road, for transportation of solid waste. Uses heavy equipment to process or dispose of solid waste at a transfer station or Class I landfill. Perform job duties in a safe and productive manner. Completes daily logs. Keep equipment and vehicles clean and orderly.   Additional Duties: Performs other related work as required. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years’ experience required Must possess and maintain Florida Class A Commercial Driver’s License. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Additional Requirements Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to learn how to operate heavy equipment to include, excavator, bull dozer, front-end-loader and other similar equipment used by the Division. All employees must attend Seminole County required trainings. Department specific trainings per position may be required.    Performance Expectations Essential Function Performance Expectation Adhere to the County/Division attendance policy. Use of scheduled leave meets Division policy. Perform daily pre/post trip inspections on equipment and vehicles, keep accurate documentation. Perform daily trip inspections and turn in documentation daily to supervisor. Perform job duties in a safe and productive manner. Follow all safety policies and State and Federal guidelines and maintain productivity. Keep equipment and vehicles clean and orderly. Perform housekeeping at the end of the shift and keep vehicles and equipment in good working condition.   Working Conditions Incumbents may work in all types of weather conditions and work in areas with a high exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, vapors, and noise. Incumbents must be able to climb a minimum 20 foot vertical ladder and lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
