Location: Seminole County Landfill – 1930 E Osceola Rd, Geneva, FL 32732 & Seminole County Transfer Station – 1950 FL-419, Longwood, FL 32750
Work Schedule: 4/10-Hour days (Monday – Saturday)
Salary: $16.15 per hour + benefits
*Required: Must be able to clear pre-employment background, drug test; Must possess a valid and active Driver's License with a clean driving record*
Description
General labor work as a spotter and performing maintenance duties at the Central Transfer Station and the County landfill.
Essential Functions
These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.
Inspect incoming waste and identify and properly manage any prohibited materials that are received at the facility.
Safely work around heavy equipment and large trucks.
Provide customer service by communicating and educating citizens utilizing the facility.
Conduct site maintenance which may include litter control, mowing, etc.
Additional Duties:
Performs other related work as necessary.
In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Additional Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Class B CDL if requested in a reasonable amount of time (not to exceed six months).
The ability to operate a bobcat / front end loader.
Must successfully obtain a Spotter Trained certification.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
